1st ODI : Hussey & Hauritz take Aussies 1-0 ahead.


Michael Hussey and Nathan Hautritz star in Aussie win at Durban Michael Hussey started his career with a bang. He averaged almost 80 per innings in one day internationals for almost 50 matches but in next 50 games, his invincibility came come considerably.

In last 6 months, he had hardly played any good innings and even his spot in Aussie team came under scanner. Hussey announced he won't be playing in IPL this year as he requires rest but most importantly, left hander required a good knock in the middle.

And he got it.. 79 ball 83, guiding Australian batting to commanding 286 from 50 overs. Hussey got good support from James Hopes who played his strokes.

Australia opted for their batting powerplay in last 5 overs of innings which also helped them reach a good first innings total.

Chasing under lights, South Africa too got off to good start with Graeme Smith scoring his 38th half century after his return to International due to broken finger. Herschelle Gibbs gave him support from other end but after he left, Ricky Ponting brought in his off-spinner Nathan Hauritz who was playing his first game of the tour after carrying drinks for almost a month.

Proteas batters found no answer to spin and gile of Nathan Hautiz and quickly slipped to embarrising defeat by 141 runs.
