Venue/Date : County ground in Worcester.. 1,2,3,4 July 2009.
Debuts : none.
Toss : Australia, elected to bat.
Result : Match Draw.
Man of the match : Brett Lee.

Day 1 Highlights :-
Michael Hussey had a hard 6 months but now, his form seems to be coming back. Today, electing to bat first in this final warm-up match before the first Ashes test at Cardiff from 8th July, Australian captain Ricky Ponting elected to bat. Steve Harmisson shaked Aussie opener Philip Hughes and then captain Ponting with short pitched balls himself who is known to play pull/hook shot better than anyone.

Losing two early wickets, Simon Katich and Michael Hussey brought visitors back into the game with a 141 run partnership. Simon Katich threw away his wicket but Michael Hussey continued upto his century and looked good for plenty more as he was unbeaten at the end of Day 1 play.

Day one didn't belong to stroke makers but it was a grafting day on a slow Worcester pitch. Simon Katich and Michael Hussey, both left handers and both ready to play the waiting game, excelled on day one while most of aussies struggled. Mitchell Johnson continued his good form with bat and once again showed he may be a turning point in upcoming Ashes test series.

Day 2 highlights :-
Stephen Moore scored the most significant century of his cricketing career so far and his opening partnership of 172 with Joe Denly put Australians on the back foot with the new ball. But, Brett Lee brought visitors back into the match with fine display of reverse swing bowling with the old ball.. taking first 5 wickets to fall.

Day 3 Highlights :-
England tail enders put up a brave effort until captain Ricky Ponting called up his most accurate bowler Stuart Clark. Starting second innings, Philip Hughes and captain Ponting fell to some inspired bowling from Steve Harmison. Marcus North, promoted up the order above Michael Hussey for some valuable match practice, helped himself to a century to end the day on high.

Day 3 Hightlights : Marcus North's near double century. Australians decided to bat on and gain some valuable practice in the middle rather than pushing for a win. They declared so late that there was no chance of a results unless England lions batted really badly. They didn't.
