Sri Lanka have never won a test match in India! and now the challenge will be on ultra experienced Indian side to maintain their phenomenal record as we go into India v Sri Lanka 3 test match series.. (Schedule : SL in Ind 2009)Indian squad, packed with batting pillers like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman and Yuvraj Singh, has familier opening pair of Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Murali Vijay, the Karnataka right hander, is back up opening option. Remember that Sourav Ganguly retired last season and hence isn't in this squad. MS Dhoni will be the captain of side while Subramaniam Badrinath gets the position of backup batting option in case one of obvious choices get injured last minute. Zaheer Khan makes a comeback into Indian team after a gap of 4 months due to multiple injuries. S Sreesanth, the talented troubled Kerala bowler, also makes a comeback after wasting couple years to several unmentionables. Is Sreesanth fit and ready to play are the first two questions that'll be asked off him on World stage before we selectors start demanding performances. Note that Sreesanth had a moderate English county stint with Warwickshire earlier this year, playing 10 games and picking up 28 wickets at a high economy. Unlike Aussies and English who announce 13 or even 12 players for a home test match, Indians selectors have a liking to filly up every berth even in their own backyard. Thankfully, they've opted for only 15 member squad this time.. probably our old horses drink too much! Pragyan Ojha's inclusion is an interesting one. A left arm spinner with immaculate control like a kite-runner, first made a name for himself in T20 games in IPL and then to one day games and now into longest format of cricket. He'll have Amit Mishra to compete, who's the only conventional leg spinner from either side in this 3 test match series.
