Record of most one day wins without a defeat belongs to Australia, for their 21 match unbeaten run back in year 2003 in which they also won the World cup, undefeated..Now, Aussies are again on an unbeaten trail, for last 11 games, beating Indians twice (plus a no result) and then 5 wins in row vs Pakistan and yesterday, their 10th win since February last year. View record list. Not an easy win as it may seem through the scorecard, Australians started hesistantly after West Indies captain Chris surprised many by electing to field first. Shaun Marsh and Shane Watson put up half century partnership and then Ricky Ponting added 85 more for second wicket but momentum was missing from home team. Keiron Pollard, bowling his off cutters and loopy bouncers from a 8 feet height and grabbed 3 wickets in his spell while Gayle bowled out 6 overs for just 32 runs for the wicket of Shane Watson to pegg home team back. Michael Hussey, playing his familier role of finisher, utilised batting pwer play well with Mitchell Johnson scoring a 21 to take home team past 250 run mark. West Indies started with aggression with Gayle looking to make most of initial field restrictions but managed only one four, and that too a lucky one. Mitchell Johnson took a superb catch running back to dismiss him off Doug Bolliner who ate up Travis Downlin in his 3rd over to reduce visitors to 3 wkts for 12. Ryan Harris continued his accurate bowling form, took 3 wickets to dissolve any hope for Caribbean team although Keiron Pollard and Lendl Simmons added 64 for 5th wicket but offspinner Nathan Hauritz enticed big allrounder into a rash shot and sealed the game for home team. Shane Watson was given the match of the match for scoring the only half century of this one day match.
