"What if I tell you that we have watched 45,000 mins of ads during last 22,124 mins of cricket that Team India has played."

It might sound strange, specially when minutes for cricket match is almost half of ads shown to us but this is how TOI (Indiatimes) found when they did a survey on how much money multinationals are putting in to catch the attention of Indian Cricket viewers.... which they know is in plenty.

And this the reason why Channels for "live telecast of cricket matches" or I should say the telecast rights keep on shifting from one broadcaster to another. England's tour was won by Sahara One, India's tour of West Indies by Tensports, again Tensports for Sri Lanka Tri series (which unfortunately lasted only 3.4 overs) and now Malaysia tri series on Zee SportZeeSportsLogo.jpgs....... and then 2006 ICC Champions trophy (to be played in India) on Channel - Set Max, a Sony Television presentation. There is so much money involved that every capable person wants to grab it.

There also have been news about BCCI's sports channel, a Nimbus sports channel, TATA Sky "direct to home" service which will allow viewers to watch anytime scorecards, commentary in different languages and many more facilities ..... all to catch the ever growing population of cricket lovers in India. And ultimately their pocket.

I can go on this story for so long that today will be gone, so let me just give you this link if you want more and lets get on with the topic here. Which is to tell you more about Tri series in Malaysia, which starts on 12th of September and involves India, Australia and West Indies.

Which channel will telecast this tournament -

In India, its Zee Sports. They won this right way back in April during India vs Pakistan two ODI series called DLF Cup in Abu Dhabi. And made sure that Zee Sports telecasts around 20 ODI's involving Indian team at neutral venues.... This Malaysia tri series in another result of that.

I am sorry but my information about telecast channels in other countries is limited. All I can tell you is that Zee Sports will telecast this series all over Indian sub continent including Malaysia and Singapore, Sky Sports will show it in Australia. It will be very nice of you to check out this forum and either find your channel, or tell others through it.

What is this channel - Zee Sports .

Zee Tv has been in India ever since Cable Tv has. But the only problem was that they concentrated on only Soap Opera's and Bollywood Movies and never saw the potential in a cricket match. Now they have seen it and launched a sports channel called Zee Sports (or ZeesZeeSportsProgram - 22yards.jpgports) some 10 months back. They normally show some cricket shows, Sports news, and Football shows. They are the channel you really want if you are interested in Indian domestic Football as they telecast them live, but once in a blue moon, Zee Sports also gets to Live telecast cricket matches and 2006 DLF Cup in Malaysia is among them.

How can I get Zee Sports at my home.

Right now there are two methods to have Zee Sports at your Television - Local cable operators and Dish TV. Local cable operators in India had some problems with Tensports, but Zeesports is very frequently available though them. Or you can try the future of Indian Television method - Direct to home. Dish Tv is one of such provider right now and they offer Zeesports every where in India. Right now Dish Tv is the only Direct to home provider but this concept is new and very soon competition will grow for them as providers like TATA Sky and others will join in with even better options and price tags.

Any other option to watch this Malaysia tri series "live" -

Frankly, not many. You have to leave your office to really enjoy a cricket game which goes on for 7 long hours, but if you still want to find an "in between method", read on -

Running Commentary : There will be no running commentary on All India radio (AIR) but as you can excess Internet right now, let me give you another very good option called BBC. You can visit this link of BBC Website and listen to commentary of each match in this Malaysia Tri series.

Live scorecard: There are plenty of Websites which will show you the live scorecard or say, India vs Australia 3rd or 6th ODI, but here are the few ones that I have selected and thought they were selectable.

Live cricket on Internet : Well, it's not very clear as yet that who shows live cricket though online methods and how much they cost. What I can tell you is you can watch highlights through cricinfo who ask for some amount of money on series by series basis.
