Listen what Sourav Ganguly is saying.

Apne
Dada ki baat sunenge naa??

It's very unlikely that you will understand above sentence unless you are an Indian, but then... it's equally unlikely that you aren't.

The above sentence are the last words from Sourav "Dada" Ganguly in the latest ad campaign of Pepsi, where they have made an Audio/video album and will be showing it's clips during the ICC Champions trophy matches.

This is a new try by Pepsi to attract attention during such a big cricket festival like Champions trophy, where they are asking Indian fans to join the "Blue Billion contest". So from selling cola, Pepsi is here with an music Album... and then a few controversial but eye catching comments by Sourav Ganguly (who is the brand ambassador of Pepsi till April 2007).

The Album - "Aaya India" from Pepsi orignally has Indian bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. And the Indian cricketer's like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina and Harbhjan Singh.

The Album originally is a collection of 7 songs of over 5 mins each, which will be shown every now and then during ICC Champions trophy 2006 but the wave is coming more from a small advertisement of the album - where we see Sourav Ganguly saying "Jo hua, kyon hua, kaise hua. Soch ker dukh bhi hota tha or gussa bhi aata tha......" and then he asks Indian cricket fans to cheer for (his) Indian team whenever they go out to play a match. And even goes on to express his feeling as - "Kya pata, mujhe phir se shirt ghumane mauka mil jaye"..!!

ICC Champions trophy has not even has reached its full flow but this Sourav Ganguly's commercial is certainly raising eyebrows. Check it out during the matches in champions trophy to judge for yourself how influential still is Mr. Sourav Ganguly.

"Ho Ha India. Aaya India".... nice marketing strategy from Pepsi though!!

Update - 7th November :

Playing for East Zone in a duleep Trophy match, Sourav Ganguly scored a very fine century against North Zone and Indian selector Venkatpathi Raju mad comments this evening that Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman should make runs in current Duleep trophy matches and they will be given a chance in Indian team.

On the other hand - Raju added that Mohammad Kaif and Suresh Raina has been given the last chance on South Africa tour and they must perform to stay in Indian team.

Seems like above mentioned advertisement has started to work for Dada. What do you say..??
