India vs England
We've broken our world into many fragments, to call them religion or nation or continents n so on.A certain religion followers wear Turban on head, mostly found in Punjab state in India. Called the followers of Sikh religion. Wikipedia will tell you more about the Turban, which originally was used to keep head cool with wet cloth on a hot day, coz I'll concentrate on just one sikh in particular ~ Madhusudhan Singh aka Monty Panesar.. bowling left arm spinners for England cricket team these days. Looking at Monty today, I see tanks of talent combined into one. Confidence is over flowing with record breaking bowling figures over not-high-class batting of West Indies. scary part is ~ that confident tank might explode during India vs England Netwest test series. So, I decided to concentrate on 6 top class Indian batsman (certain to play all 3 test), to tell you how they'll behave against Monty. The story that follows may not be too entertaining for Indian fans, but true cricket lovers must enjoy it.. Starting with Captain Dravid, you've a batsman quick on his feet's but plays across the line too much. Monty Panesar bowls one line n length, but mixes speed with loops n drift. What Rahul Dravid will do, is back himself to pick everything bowled by Monty. He'll know which ones will pitch where, to take how much turn n to which side. believe me, Dravid is that fine batsman. He'll pick 18 out of 20 deliveries bowled by Monty. Viewers can watch out for those 2 balls, when Dravid will be in trouble playing over aggressive flick across the line. Come to Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar - a fine straight batter. unless the ball is really short - Sachin is happy playing a left arm spinner defensively. He'll cover drive occasionally, but keep quite mostly.. aggression is expected when Monty Panesar will go over the wicket to bowl outside Tendulkar's leg stump. Sachin truly hates that line - n is prone to commit mistakes out of frustration. Sourav Ganguly completes the Indian batting Triplet, probably the best lofter of left arm spinner in International cricket ~ but again, a lazy person. He'll check his cover drives, to go for square cut when ball isn't that short. I'll advice Monty to flight as much as he can to Ganguly, cause he takes time to feel comfortable against any bowler. Result - never dancing down the track early in the innings. Possibilities are of a miss-judgment from Bengal tiger, to get LBW, if bowled smartly. VVS Laxman must feel hurt. His form & luck never stayed consistent, n neither is his will to stick to wicket when needed. English cricket fans (in Netwest test series) are up for a treat of Very Very Special cover drives & flicks through midwicket to square leg. Monty Panesar might see the worst, if VVS Laxman dares to be his best. Probabilities are - Laxman will play careless shot too early, if Monty asks the right questions.Mahendra Singh Dhoni is Indian wicket keeper. I repeat this, because England test cricket fans will see another keeper - Dinesh Karthik opening for India. Both will attack Monty Panesar enthusiastically, coz none of them has brilliant footwork to defend convincingly. I'll not advice Monty anything for these two Indian keepers for the fact that a free Full Monty is tough nut in itself. Wasim Jaffer is the 6th batsman I'll tell you about, who if is batting against Monty Panesar ~ England will be in trouble. When Wasim Jaffer bats long, he really occupies the crease for hundreds of minutes. He'll be defensive/driving against Monty Panesar, but lose bottom hand shot is expected. Jaffer is pace/swing bowling specialist, n loses focus when spinners come. I dare say, he loses patiences nearly always. Said all this - its 20% likely that Indian batting will smash Monty's left arm spin bowling apart within 2 overs he first comes to bowl. There are 12 more Montys in Indian domestic cricket, whom Indian batting has perfected 'playing spin' on.. Related ArticlesEngland cricket
