Sports channels to watch cricket is a complicated case in India. Every new series - new channels get the broadcasting rights and stump the viewers.The coming Triangular cricket series between India, Australia and Srilanka to be played from February 3 to mid-march would be live on Channel "Star Sports"(the ESPN channel) and on Doordarshan - or DD1 or DD National as people might know it as. DD1 will also show the Ind v Aus T20 match on 1st Feb. The trick is - Starsports is available through Dish TV (the direct-to-home) satellite service in India but not through rival Tata Sky. So - it becomes a must for those using Tata Sky that the triseries in Australia 2008 involving Indian cricket team is shown on Doordarshan. Not to mention our rural areas where only DD1 reaches television sets, no other channels.. and news is that Doordarshan will show the series. Following is a list of telecast start time with date wise time table of when the matches of Commonwealth Bank triseries will be played and shown on doordarshan. DD1 has a preview program called Fourth Umpire and you can find the detailed program time-table of Doordarshan on its official site here for highlights timings and other info. Notes **Itsonlycricket has also received many emails asking whether AIR = All India Radio would be giving the running commentary of this India-srilanka-australia trination cricket series or not.. well, I can't confirm that as no news has come as yet. If it does - this part would be updated. **Why Starsports will telecast tri series and not Starcricket which was showing the India vs Australia test series?? well, what can I say - its a ESPN policy to keep troubling the innocent viewers who just want to watch cricket match. They just care about making more and more money. **When will the highlights packages shown on Doordarshan and Starsports? good question for people who work all day and miss a match. now for specific info - you've to visit the doordarshan program schedule. TV timing list of starsports & I've already mentioned the Doordarshan official site who program listings change only for 1 day in forward..!
