England arrive back in India for Test Series

Years from now, fans would wonder why England team had training sessions in Abu Dhabi for a test series against India, in India!

Answer : England lost Cuttack ODI (26 Nov 2008) and an hour hence, before 5th straight defeat could sink in, Terrorist attacks in Mumbai shoked the World. England decided to fly back home. understandably.

A week later, after array of security checks, English cricket team arrived back in India to finish their commitment with a changed schedule - Test Match venues changed from Ahmedabad and Mumbai to Chennai and Mohali.

Some England players, including allrounder Andrew Flintoff and Fast bowler Steve Harmisson were reluctant to resume Indian tour but finally, England boys decided to finish series as a team.

A total of 5000 security personels has been arranged by Indian board for both the teams, including 300 commandos at the hotels and around the location.

Meanwhile, with India vs England test series set to start on scheduled date of 11th December 2008, doubts over Doordarshan showing the live match are looming again. As reported earlier - Neosports holds the broadcasting rights and as DD1 has been reluctant to do live coverage of 5 day matches - fans might well be dried up of the sporting event.

On other hand, Neosports has bagged Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as the title sponser of this India vs England test series, in which the ODIs were sponsored by Hero Honda.
