Asked about India's dull record chasing test match totals batting 4th, Coach Gary Kristen said on day 3 of this Chennai match - "if that's the perception, then we would like to change that".. and so they did.India chased down 387 today - the highest test match target ever achieved in India or asia, which now stands 4th in overall list Internationally (record list). Riding on blistering start by Virendra Sehwag where he scored second fastest half century by an Indian on Day 4, India made sure on Day 5 that they picked up one and twoes coupled with occassional baundaries with Sachin Tendulkar scoring his 41st century (only his 3rd in 4th innings). England players tried every trick of irritation but Yuvraj Singh held his concentration strong to finish unbeaten on 93 which meant unbeaten 163 run partnership with Tendulkar and India were home good 20 overs remaining on last days play. Contributions from Gautam Gambhir who made controled 66 and even smallish 26 by VVS Laxman were integral as India entertained Chepauk stadium crowd who had filled up the stadium on a heavy working day called Monday. England, returning to India under termendous doubts over security, played mighty fine cricket where Andrew Strauss become only the 8th batsman (2nd English) to score century in both innings of a test match yet his team lost. Note : This was MS Dhoni's 4th test match as captain and he now has won all the 4 of them.. the only captain to have achieved the feat. Even Kevin Pietersen had won 1 test match he had captain England but his record now says 2 tests captain, 1 won, 1 lost.
