You are on a roll kid.. enjoy it while it lasts, cause it never does!
These lines from Michael Douglas starer "Wall Street" fit perfectly for India's captain MS Dhoni today, as his team, on a roll with 3 wins straight, played for a draw in this Delhi test match against England, and earned it. Dhoni, a fun loving young man that he is, got rid of wicketkeeping pads and bowled the last over himself to wrap-up a tame draw.
With heavy fog every morning and lightless evenings (plus both captains agreeing not to use flood lights) - Draw had probably won this test match much before England bowled a delivery or Indians played one after ... .. Read complete article |

50 over game turned into 44 over game turned into 22 over game and all this, when India had batted only 17 overs after losing the toss.
Rain was inevitable from the beginning and both captains wanted to field first. Having lost the toss, another bad luck happened for India that they didn't get their batting power play cause match was reduced to only 22 overs each side.
When the match started for the 3rd time, India got only 5 overs to bat from which - they scored quickfire 83 runs. Since Duck-Worth Lewis system (D/L method) gives advantage to the team which has more wickets remaining - India's total of 166 was turned into ... .. Read complete article |

England will certainly have their excuses but it was once again a comfortable victory for the home side in the end. The fate of the game was decided by D\L method but had the game gone the distance ~ result would hardly been different. There are quite a few things for the ICC to look for, as here was every chance for a full game, when you are having lights in the stadium you have to use it ,I don't see any sense in wasting 30-35 minutes at the start when you have the resources to avoid these circumstances, the lights sported a deserted look as the players left the ground much to the dislike of the capacity crowd.
